THE FOUNDER  - WILLIAM C. BROWN

After serving as a machinist in the early part of World War II, he served in the Pacific and European Theater in the Army Corp of Engineers. He returned home and worked as a machinist-mechanic until buying the business in 1949. In 1972 he moved to Canton Township after being robbed and having his mechanic severally beaten. He also wanted to be closer to Metatal Airport for his plane.

Bill has always been active in the auto repair business. He has attended classes on everything from generator service to automatic transmissions. He attended school in New York to learn the trade. He was originally certified by the NIASE as a Master Technician in the early 1970's. Bill served as Secretary of the Michigan Automotive Service Council and also as President of the combined mechanical and body division in the mid 1970's. He tries to attend seminars to keep his hands in the business.

Presently Bill runs our desk in the mornings. He writes work orders and calls customers and orders parts. In the afternoons he stays busy with his many hobbies, such as model airplane flying and piloting his Twin Comanche. Bill is also a charter member of the Canton Rotary Club and immediate past president for the second time. He is also a charter member of the Canton Chamber of Commerce. Bill also works as assistant airport manager part time.
