Gerry is active in the Canton Rotary Club and currently serve on the Board of
Directors as a Director. Rotary is an International service organization made up
of business owners and managers. He has been a member since 1985 and has served
one other term on the Board.
Gerry helps manage the fund raisers for the club, such as our annual raffle. We also
husk com behind our shop for the annual Fall festival in neighboring Plymouth.
We husk over 13,000 ears of corn behind our shop. In the past I have also been
on the Scholarship Committee and the Literacy committee. In 1993 he won the
"Service above Self" award from the Club.
Gerry is also a member of the Canton Chamber of Commerce. He is not as active in this
association as he is the Rotary Club but does attend functions when he can. In
1988 he won the small business person of the year award in the Service category.
Our shop is also a member of the National Federation of Independent Business.
Gerry is also a member of the Plymouth Metetal Aviation Association and usually buy
the coffee for the EAA annual pancake breakfast.
Gerry and his wife are active at St. Michaels Catholic Church, where she teaches
Sunday School and ran the nursery. They both are active with the Cub Scouts of
which our oldest son is a member.
